The Power of the Subconscious Mind

The Power of the Subconscious Mind | Successful Tribe

The subconscious mind in its simplest terms can be considered that part of you that’s outside of your conscious awareness, that creates automatic programs (beliefs, behaviors, and attitudes) to make life for you easier to operate in without having to place too much focus and attention on everything you’re doing. The subconscious mind is like a huge filing cabinet that stores all pleasant and unpleasant experiences, habits, visual images, information from your past life, through birth to childhood and present adult life.

The subconscious mind isn’t immediately accessible by your Conscious (objective) mind. Without your Subconscious mind, you can’t recall your childhood experiences, past life, etc. It’s also within the subconscious mind that your habits, character traits, learned behaviours and beliefs including limiting beliefs are registered.

Your subconscious mind is an unquestioning servant that works day and night to make your behavior fits a pattern consistent with your emotionalized thoughts, hopes, and desires. Your subconscious mind grows either flowers or weeds in the garden of your life, whichever you plant by the mental equivalents you create.

The part of your brain that you’re aware of is your conscious mind. On the flip side, the part of your mind you’re unaware of is your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind makes up an estimated 92% of the total brain. The conscious mind comprises the remaining 8%. Thus, the conscious mind is puny compared to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind contains the software for your involuntary functions, emotions, and habits. Most of your habits and emotional conditioning were programmed in early childhood before you had mature faculties to make proper decisions. Many were programmed by parents, teachers, peers, TV.

The conscious mind sees with the eyes. It perceives outside experiences that are taken into your mind. The subconscious mind, on the other hand, has no contact with the outside world. It’s blind. The subconscious mind doesn’t see any more than a computer sees. Consequently, the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between real and imagined. It relies on sensory input. Thus, it responds to reality and imagination in the same way.

The subconscious mind has limited vocabulary and isn’t as articulate with words. Most people don’t dream in words. The subconscious mind communicates predominantly with images and feelings.

The subconscious mind can do trillions of functions at the same time. You don’t have to conscientiously think to breathe, perspire when you’re hot, digest your food, fight foreign bodies, release insulin, and on and on. It constantly communicates with all of the cells in your body, and the cells, in return, communicate with your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the feeling mind. It’s the source of love, hatred, anguish, fear, jealousy, sadness, anger, joy, desire, etc. When you say, “I feel…” the source of the feeling is the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind can prepare simple stimulus-response actions, deliver basic facts, recognize objects and carry out practiced movements. Complex cognition involving planning, logical reasoning and combining ideas, on the other hand, requires conscious thought.

The subconscious mind reads not only your thoughts, but also your emotions. If these two are congruent, then the subconscious mind accepts the idea or thought as true. It matters not whether it’s a positive thought or a negative thought, the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference. What matters most is that the thoughts, including mental images, and emotions are all in alignment, this sets the subconscious mind into action to make your ideas happen.

Controlling the subconscious mind through the use of willpower makes matters worse, so controlling the subconscious mind has nothing to do with force or coercion…in fact, it’s just the opposite. It’s a matter of calm, confident, and congruent thoughts, images, and feelings being consciously created and held onto with feelings of positive expectancy and focused on what you want, not what you don’t want.

I’d like to share with you the six techniques that you could use to reprogram your Subconscious mind and change your life:

1.Positive affirmations
The use of positive affirmations help the Subconscious mind to reprogram through repeated personal, positive, present tense statements.

2.Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a therapy that works with the subconscious mind as it enables the individual to achieve a state of extreme relaxation.

3.Visualization
It’s a technique that can enable you to create detailed mental pictures that describe a specific desired outcome.

4. Meditation
When you meditate, you’re consciously and unconsciously reprogramming your mind.

5.Subliminal audio/video
The use of subliminal audio or video is beneficial to the subconscious mind whether done while asleep or awake.

6.Self-suggestion
You can use self-suggestion to consciously tell your subconscious mind what you would like to see happen.

The subconscious mind learns through repetition, that’s how it picked up the negative patterns or bad habits in the first place. By spending time each day affirming your new beliefs/programming or thought pattern, you can effectively change your life and reality. Take time every day sowing the seeds of your new programming. Repeating mantras or positive affirmations have the power to raise your vibrations and make a lasting impression in your subconscious mind.

6 Behaviors That Are Limiting Your Success | SuccessfulTribe.com

Success is something that can be obtained by those who put their mind to it, take action, and develop good behaviors. It’s achieving what matters most to you individually, and not as some objective measure of outer wealth, accomplishment or achievement. People who love what they do for a living and have created tremendous success, not only engage continuously in life, but also avoid certain negative actions and mindsets that other less successful people do. Your behaviors can be the reason why you succeed or don’t succeed in life.
A lot of times you have developed bad behaviors which hold you back from having a successful life. These behaviors hold you back from building businesses, cultivating relationships, and much more. Bad behaviors prevent you from achieving the success you desire.

I’d like to share with you 6 behaviors that are limiting success in your personal and professional life. When you make the decision to change any of these behaviors, you’ll start to experience more success in your life.

1.Self-limiting beliefs

Self-limiting belief is the behavior that keeps many people from achieving success. Don’t come up with reasons why you shouldn’t, think of reasons why you should do something great because you might actually succeed!
You need to remove these limiting beliefs and push past the fear. You can do this by using positive affirmations about yourself and consistently using positive self-talk to boost up your confidence level. It also helps to surround yourself with people who believe in you and your abilities and push you forward to face your fears. When you replace negative limits in your beliefs about yourself with positive images that focus on your potential, your success increases exponentially. The keys to overcoming many of these limiting beliefs are recognizing them, understanding how you got them, and then banishing them through sustained activity. Eliminating self-limiting belief is entirely doable.

2.Personal responsibility

In order to succeed in life, you must take 100% responsibility for what happens in your life and realize it’s a direct reaction or response to your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. You need to make a conscious decision to become the sole person responsible for your life, and you need to make that decision now. Accept responsibility for who you’re right now. It’s not other people who made you the way you’re, but only your own thoughts and actions.
When something goes wrong, openly acknowledge it as your fault, even if you feel there were external circumstances that contributed. Don’t be afraid to take risks or make important decisions. Don’t be afraid to mess up, even though it can be scary to take responsibility for your actions.
Taking responsibility for your life can be a very challenging and lifelong process, but it’s necessary if you want to truly be successful.

3.Perfection

You don’t have to be amazing. You don’t even have to be alright. The internal pressure to be perfect, to look and act just right, can actually hold you back. So stop being so hard on yourself.
Letting go of the perfection is necessary to sustain the sense that you’re doing well enough. This may also be one of the reasons that people who focus on their improvement, rather than on absolute performance standards, keep on going. They keep on working, focusing on how much better they’re now than they were before rather than on how far they’re from where they hope to go.
Success is to follow your passion, and passion needs to be implemented into your lifestyle. If you think you’ll nail everything in one go, you might be fooling yourself. The main ingredient to success is failure, so it’s no surprise that most successful people have the capacity to let go of perfection to take their first steps. They know that success is ongoing and learning never stops.

4.Comfort zone

To be successful in life, you need to take risks. In order to take risks you need to stop worrying about what might happen if it doesn’t work out. Yes, it can mean being in an uncomfortable situation, but instead of looking at something like a financial burden, think of it as an investment in your future. Successful people try new things because they understand that as long as you’re not hurting anyone in the process of success, taking risks will help you rise above.
To see the change in your business and life, you have to push outside of your comfort zone. I have to take the risks that scare you and face your fears head on in order to realize what you were capable of and what you could accomplish. It’s pretty normal to feel a bit scared when breaking out of your comfort zone and routine boundaries, but remind yourself that all growth takes place outside your comfort zone.

5.Living in the past or future

To live fully in the present moment means that your awareness is completely centered on the here and now. You’re not worrying about the future or thinking about the past. When you live in the present, you’re living where life is happening. The past and future are illusions, they don’t exist. If you’re living in the present, you’re living in acceptance. You’re accepting life as it’s now, not as how you wish it would have been. When you’re living in acceptance, you realize everything is complete as it is. You can forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, and you can have peace in your heart knowing that everything that should happen will.
It can be easy to stuck on an idea, but the goal is to move forward with the present to achieve success. Successful people are always prepared for the unexpected, but continue to keep a strong momentum for the present in order to reach their goals ahead. Learn to use past experiences to make wiser decisions in the present.

6.Fear of Success

Fear holds so many people back in life. Fear of the outcome, fear of the unknown, fear of not being good enough, fear of failing, fear of being powerful, fear of creating a legacy and of being whom you were created to be.
Fear stems from your beliefs about yourself, which come from your experiences and feedback from family and friends. If you have had a negative experience with something, then you may fear experiencing that negative feeling again. If you have been told that you can’t do something, then you might be fearful that you really can’t do it.
Successful life doesn’t mean that you’ll not fail but it means that your mistakes will teach you something and show you a better way to get what you want. If success doesn’t come easily to you then, subconsciously, there’s a part of you that doesn’t want success. Your subconscious is running what you do up to 95% of the time, so it’s important you take a look at this at a deeper level.
